We are very excited to partner with the ValleyCats to provide some unique support at The Joe.  Carter’s Crew and the ValleyCats have installed a sensory path on the leftfield side of the concourse.  The addition of this path will provide individuals a unique opportunity for well-planned sensory input that may prove beneficial in an environment that may otherwise be overly stimulating.  We are so excited about this partnership and hope to see you on June 30th and throughout the 2019 season!

Press Release:

By Tri-City ValleyCats | June 15, 2019 8:32 PM

TROY, NY- The Tri-City ValleyCats are excited to announce another event to its jam-packed promotional calendar for the 2019 season. The ValleyCats will team up with Carter's Crew for its Inaugural Autism Awareness Night when the team hosts the Aberdeen IronBirds on Sunday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. The promotion will coincide with Dollar Dog Night at the ballpark.

Carter's Crew will help the ValleyCats to transform Joseph L. Bruno Stadium into a sensory-friendly environment during the game, with activities carrying on throught the season to raise awareness for autism. The organization was founded two years ago, with the mission of supporting and giving back to the autism community.

"We are very excited to partner with the ValleyCats to provide some unique support at The Joe," Carter's Crew Excecutive Director Tina Slingerland said. "It's an honor and pleasure to team with an organization that is as focused on community as much as we are."

Throughout the duration of the ValleyCats' 2019 season, "The Joe" will feature a sensory path next to the Fun Zone located on the 3rd base side of the concourse. Designed to be used for both younger children and those on the Autism Spectrum, the path will be the first of its kind in a local arena and one of the first to be featured throughout the entire Milb.

"We are very happy to have the chance to partner with such a meaningful organization in Carter's Crew," Assistant General Manager Michelle Skinner said. "They do a fantastic job of providing support to those affected by autism, and we couldn't be more excited to offer our support by educating ValleyCats fans and providing sensory outlets at the ballpark. Autism affects so many people both in our community and around the world, and this partnership will go a long way to help spread awareness."

Additionally, the ValleyCats will feature a scavenger hunt in its Homeplate Central News publication, where kids can search for clues hidden in stickers and around the ballpark to win prizes. Ear plugs will also be available at the fan relations booth throughout the 2019 campaign.

VAMOS GATOS!
